NUMERICAL ANALYSIS AND STATISTICAL METHOD

UNIT-I

Soluation of algebraic and transcendental equations,bisection method,method of folse position,Newton-Raphson method,convergence of the above methods.Soluation of simultenious linear equations;Guess elimination method,
Guess-Jordan method,Gurss-seidal method,Guess-jacobi method.

UNIT-II

Interpolation polinomial interpolation,lagrange interpolation,diffirant table,Newton's forward and backward,interpolation,Numerical integration by simtion's 1/3 rule and trapezoidal rule.

UNIT-III

Probability theory:Sample space,Event,probability of events,probability of union,intersection and complement of events,conditional probability,baye'stheorom,distribution(normal,bionormal,poission).

UNIT-IV

Number theory:introduction,divisibility,primes and congruence(without proof of the theoroms).

OPERATING SYSTEM

UNIT-I

Evolution of operating system.Resident monitor,batch processing,multiprogramming,multiprocessing time shairing,real time system,input out put interrupts,DMA,dualmode operating system service.

UNIT-II

File system,file concept,file attributes,file operation,file tipe,file structure,access methods sequential access, index sequential access,and direct access,directory,structure,structure single level,two level,treee structure,file protection and access control.

UNIT-III

Process concept,process state trasition digram,process control block,process schedulings schedulars,CPU scheduling,CPU by

i/o brust cycle,scheduling algorithm;FCFS,SJP,Priority,round robing,dead lock resorce alocation graph,dead lock provention,detection and recover.

UNIT-IV

Logical verces physical address space,overlays,swapping,contigeous alocation,single partition,internal and external memory fragemantation,non-contigeous alocation,pagine,demand paging,conept or virtual memory,page replacement algorithms FIFO,optimal and LRU.

COMPUTER ORGANISATION

UNIT-I

Combination and sequential circuits Bolean algebra,truth table,synthesisof logic functions AND,OR,NOT,NAND,NOR,XORgets,minimum logical expressions,kernough maps,flip-flops,master slave and edge triggred flip-flop,registers,and shif registers,counters,decoders,multiplexers.

UNIT-II

Arithmetic and logical organization.Addition and substraction using 1's and 2's complement,method,binary adder,parallel adder,carry lock ahead adder,multiplication,Booth's algorithm,division,floating point operations.

UNIT-III

CPU OrganisationIntroduction and introduction sequencing,introction formats (zero,one and two address instructions,) addressing modes (register,absolute,immediate,indirect,indexed,auto increment and aoto decrement),stock queues and subroutin.

UNIT-IV

Input-Output Organization Address input-output devices,interrupt's,handling multiple devices,vector interrupts,simultaneous request,direct memory access(DMA),channels.

INTRODUCTION TO DATABASE MENAGEMENT SYSTEM

UNIT-I

Basic concept of database system,Advantages of DBMS,3 level architecture for DBMS,Data independance,Database access,DDL.DML,Database administrator,Data modeling E-R diagram.

UNIT-II

Database file structure,sequencial,indexed sequential and direct access files,indexed and hashing techniques.

UNIT-III

Relation model:structure of relational tadabase,base table,view,relational algebra,set operation,relational perations,selection,projection,join and division operations,normal forms.

UNIT-IV

Hierachical data model,tree structure diagrams,physical and logical database records,data retrival,virtual records,internal representation like HSAM,HISAM,HDAM and HIDAM;network data model;data structure diagrams ,DBTG CODASYL MODEL,DBTG retrival and update facilities.

OBJECT ORIENTED PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE(LAB-I)
